The Other Way to Versailles

It feels like there are only a couple of options to get to Versailles, but I decided to try something different to change things up. The Other Way to Versailles takes the beginning of the Fairy Tale route to get out of the city and make your way west before cutting south towards Versailles.

The route heads out along the Quai before cutting over to the Bois de Boulogne. From there, you have a long, steady climb up and out of the city. You continue making your way west through small roads in the quiet suburbs. After 25km you have finished most of the climbing and pass through Marly-le-Roi. From there, it's a straight shot south back towards the typical Versailles roads and the backside of the Versailles gardens. The route then takes the most direct way back through Sèvres and along the Quai, getting you back to the café in just under 60km.
If you are looking for something a little different, this is a nice alternative to the typical Versailles route. You still get the classic roads and views around Versailles, but the first half gives you a completely different way to get there.
