Whether you’re visiting and want to see Versailles, or you’re just looking for a shorter ride around Paris, the Versailles Express takes a fairly direct route while still keeping things interesting with nice roads and scenery.

Leaving Paris, you follow the left bank quai before cutting across to the right bank at Pont de l’Alma, then make your way through Trocadéro and on to Bois de Boulogne. After leaving the Bois and crossing the Seine again, you turn left toward Saint-Cloud. The route rolls up and down for several kilometers through the forests of Saint-Cloud and Fausses-Reposes. Just before the halfway mark, the climbing is behind you, and you descend into the city of Versailles. The route passes directly in front of the château before looping back toward Paris.
The return is a straight shot through Chaville and Sèvres before hopping back onto the right bank quai for a quick finish at the café. A proper visit to the château is well worth it if you haven’t been before, but either way it’s always fun to ride past and take in the view from the outside.
