Back in a Gif

This 73km route drops you into the Chevreuse Valley briefly but gets you back home a bit earlier than other routes, hence the name. It provides a good amount of climbing, including both steep and sustained climbs.

For both efficiency and to change things up, this route heads out of the city via the 15th. On weekend mornings, there is minimal traffic. Instead of climbing up the typical Clamart climb, this one opts for the steeper La Muerte. From there, you cut through Meudon a different way than usual, taking smaller, less-maintained roads until you rejoin the typical route around 18km in. You continue through another forest, followed by a climb up and over into the valley. After cutting across the valley briefly, you climb back out via Route de Gif, passing a picturesque château on the left. You make your way towards Buc across the fields before dropping into Jouy-en-Josas. From there, it’s more up and down as you make your way back towards Meudon before descending to the Quai.
This is a great ride for a change-up and to maximize your forest time without going too far, while still allowing you to get back home in a Gif.
