BV25-06 Dix-sept Turns 100K
100k up, down, and around the Chevreuse Valley, this route features climbs on both sides of the valley and, of course, my favorite climb, 17 Turns. Heading out of Paris, you follow the left bank quais, avoiding the tunnel. This is a standard route out through Clamart and Meudon. The only change is when you get to Igny, there is a better cut-through to the EDF campus. This is now my new normal, but many previous routes had an alternative slightly west. After you drop down into

BV25-05 Westside 79
This solid 79km route is a modified version of the Fairytale Route I have featured before but trims it down a bit for when you're looking for something under 100k. It takes you west, a bit south of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, through the fields and then loops back to Versailles for a classic finish. Heading out from Le Peloton Cafe, you make your way to Bois de Boulogne. I quite like this route where you take the left bank until Pont Alma and then cut over the Bois through Trocadé

Bievres
The Bievres loop takes a direct route through the 15th arr. of Paris into the nearby forests. This route is designed for efficiency but then maximizes "forest time", as we like to say. After climbing up Clamart you pass through Meudon forest before descending into Bievres. You make your way across the valley on the upper road before reaching Jouy and climbing back out of the valley. On your way back to Paris you again go through Meudon for one last scenic climb before headin

Vaux de Cernay
If I am doing 100km+ this is the first route that comes to mind. It features my favorite road in the region, which is very secluded with rolling hills and beautiful forest all around. The route is similar to a Chevreuse > 17 turn route, but it has the addition of going by Vaux de Cernay. I have not been or stayed at the hotel Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay, but it looks amazing from what I have seen online. Regardless, the road it is on is the main attraction for me. I love the va

LPC Classic Marne Loop
If you have less than 2hrs, a Marne loop is the best option. For being in the city area the whole time, it is a surprisingly nice route, especially on Sundays when there are no cars allowed. The route follows the Seine until it meets the Marne river where you follow the quiet street around the river bend. At the halfway point you cut across the river and up a climb just to spice things up a bit before dropping back down and finishing off the loop. The route takes you around 1

17 Turns
17 turns is one of my favorite climbs in the region. It is not particularly difficult, but the winding road and forest surroundings are beautiful. This route takes a fairly direct path in and out to keep the distance down but also gives alternative to some of the other routes. Take note that this route goes through the tunnel just past point Mirabeu, a section I have been avoiding recently due to it being busy, but it's the most efficient way when you are going up Sevres. Barn Loop
Le Barn is a quaint hotel in the forest outside of Paris and this is a fantastic round trip route to check it out. A little before half way, you will come to Le Barn Hotel (the gate may be closed but you can open the door to the right) where you can stop in for the cyclist special which is 7 euros for a coffee and an assortment of treats to refuel. If you wanted a bit longer (~14km), you could add the nice stretch of road from the Vaux de Cerney route. This route is great any

Bievres with Bonus Climb
This route is a modification to the Bievres route to increase the distance and include a lovely little climb. This route also changes the exit from the city by following the Seine. The bonus climb is quite scenic and takes you up to a charming village and then a quick descent past the auquaduct. From there, it's the same as the other Bievres route. This has become my preferred choice for shorter rides. GPX File
