Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, a 17th-century château about 50 km south of Paris, makes for a great long loop. It's worth visiting on its own, but even from the road, you can get a good view of the front.

The route starts along the quai and follows a common path toward Fontainebleau. Heading south, you pass through some nice forest sections like Forêt de Sénart and Rougeau, then you cut east just before Melun. Around the 65 km mark, the château appears on your right after a classic straight, tree-lined stretch. Even if you don’t stop for a full visit, it’s a nice place to pause for a quick photo. We have covered a full visit of the château and gardens in a previous post.
After the château, the return route heads through quieter roads and open farmland. The terrain has enough variety and elevation to stay engaging. As you get closer to Paris, you rejoin the Marne loop and follow it back to the café. This route offers a solid day out without much climbing and great sights along the way.
