Marne and More is an expanded option to the east that keeps you close to the city, mostly on bike paths and away from traffic. Typically, for 80 km rides, I head to Chevreuse — but sometimes you just want to switch things up.

The route starts with a classic Marne loop for the first 25 km. Instead of heading into the Bois de Vincennes, you continue along the Marne for another 13 km until you cut south and tackle the first (and only) notable climb. After climbing up from the river, you make your way to the Forêt de Notre-Dame. Before reaching the forest, there's a spot where you need to pass under the RER tracks. Head down the ramp toward the station — it looks like you're entering the station itself, but there is a pass-through. The signs say to walk your bike, but I usually just ride slowly through. Every time I’ve gone, there haven’t been many people around. At 54 km, you arrive at the forest and hop onto a gravel path that cuts right through its center. While it’s not paved, the surface is incredibly smooth and easy to ride — 100% rideable on any road bike and tire size.
After the forest, you make your way back to the Marne, repeating about 6 km of the loop until you reach the Bois de Vincennes. From there, you can either add a few polygon loops or cut straight back to the café for a well-earned post-ride coffee.
