If you’re in search of some vert, look no further than Mountainous Meudon. This silly little series of loops racks up 800 m of climbing in just over 50 km.

The route leaves Paris through the 15th, but not before a little amuse-bouche: a quick climb up to the Panthéon, just for fun. From there it’s a straight shot out to La Muerte for the first of six climbs. The route weaves together a set of overlapping loops, carefully avoiding doubling up on any climb or descent. Each ascent is paired with a single descent—no repeats. Some of the downhills are steep and twisty, but this ride is about stacking ascents, not bombing descents.

The fifth climb is a punchy one: 9% for 1 km. Then it’s on to the grand finale, “the wall,” which honestly doesn’t feel so bad after Rue de la Garenne.

From there, it’s the usual drop back to the Seine and a quick cruise to the café for the finish. If you’re training for something specific, or you’re just a bit of a masochist, this might be the route for you.
