The Southern 100 mile route is a nice way to stack up distance while getting a good mix of landscapes along the way.

A quick cut through the 15th gets you out of the city faster, and the ride feels fairly routine through Gif. From there you head south, which breaks things up nicely. The terrain shifts between farmland and forest, with enough climbing to keep the pace changing as you work toward Étréchy and the halfway point. Most of the climbing is behind you by then, and you start moving east to meet the Seine.
After crossing the river, you follow it north and ride through Sénart. Once you’re out of the forest, the route turns more direct; it’s not the most scenic stretch, but by this point you’ve already had more than 100 km of great roads, so efficiency wins out.
Like the NW 100, this loop is ideal for long days in the saddle without the hassle of trains in either direction.
